Throughout the School Year, the J.R. Clifford Project, presents information about the life and legacy of J.R. Clifford to students around the state of West Virginia.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration
On January 16 and 18, 2010 the Martin Luther King, Jr., West Virginia Holiday Commission, the West Virginia Division of Culture and History and West Virginia State University sponsored three events as part of the national celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his accomplishments. The J.R. Clifford Project was an integral part of this celebration.
History Day at the WV Legislature 2010
Megan Lowe, AmeriCorps VISTA for the J.R. Clifford Project attended the annual History Day at the Legislature to spread the word about J.R. Clifford and his contributions to West Virginia's History.
Stamp Celebration

On February 20, 2009 the Friends of Blackwater Canyon and the J.R. Clifford Project hosted a Celebration of the Life and Works of J.R. Clifford in conjunction with celebrating his inclusion in the US Postal Service's 2009 Civil Rights Pioneer Commemorative Stamp Series.
